# Building AI that understands human context.

**Beyond Intelligence** is a two-day hackathon for Ethiopian builders. Make software that notices focus, stress, and cognitive load — on the device — and adapts to the person using it.

The goal

AI can write, see, and speak. It still can’t tell when the person in front of it is overwhelmed.

In one weekend, build a working product that reads a person’s state — focus, stress, recovery — and responds to it, without their personal data ever leaving the device.

01

Read the state

02

Respect the person

03

Respond in real time

Tracks

## Three directions. Pick one, or combine them.

01

### Cognitive state

Read focus, stress, and cognitive load from the signals people already produce — typing rhythm, scrolling pace, taps, and optional wearables.

02

### On-device privacy

Inference runs locally. Raw signals never leave the device; only structured state is shared, and only with consent.

03

### Adaptive interfaces

Agents and apps that change pace, tone, and level of help as the person’s state changes — software that guesses less.

How you build

## Signal in. State out. Your product decides.

You’ll build on Synheart’s Human State Interface — SDKs, a CLI with mock signal streams, and mentors on the floor all weekend.

1. 01 ### Signal Behavioral or physiological input from a phone, laptop, or wearable. Mock streams via the CLI — no hardware needed.
2. 02 ### State Synheart Core turns it into a structured read on-device: a score, a confidence, and the moment it applies to.
3. 03 ### Response Your product acts on it. Slow down, simplify, step in, or stay out of the way.
